Beauty: Clarins "The Essentials" Eyeshadow Palette

Every year, Clarins comes out with a limited edition eyeshadow palette for the Holidays. "The Essentials" palette is Clarins' version of Urban Decay's Naked palettes and features neutral shades, ranging from light to dark with finishes going from matte, satin/shimmery to full-on glittery. The design and packaging of the palette is in line with Clarins' eco-responsible charter. The eyeshadows were formulated with annatto oil for maximum softness on the skin and annatto flowers served as inspiration for the design.

The shades are cool-toned, with mostly pinks, plums and taupes, reminding me of the Naked 3 palette. They are described as follows:

L-R: smokey pink (matte); fresh pink (shimmer); beige (matte); pink diamond (glitter)

L-R: violet grey (shimmer); taupe (shimmer); grey-violet (shimmer); plum (shimmer)

L-R: aubergine (matte); black violet (shimmer)

Overall I feel like the pigmentation of the eyeshadows was decent but for $62 I would've expected slightly better quality (less fallout, easier to blend) and more matte shades (a cool, matte brown or taupe would've been the perfect addition as a transition color).
However the shades are beautiful and perfect to create a romantic holiday look that is dark but still fresh and feminine.

I'm wearing:

Are you going smoky or nude for New Year's Eve?
